An aviation culture lesson in the classroom of the Belluno flying club

Flying can be understood from the ground too

Not everybody who comes through the airfield gate wants a licence, and that is perfectly fine. Some people only want to know why an aeroplane stays up, what an airfield is really like, what the weather forecast is telling them when it says something. They are the same questions a pilot starts from: we give the answers to everyone.

For schools

A session in the classroom, or a morning at the airfield: the briefing room, the hangars, the aeroplanes close up and the people who fly them. The children go home having touched a wing and looked inside a cockpit, which is another way of studying physics.

The programme is agreed with the teachers: it ranges from a single lesson to a guided visit to the airfield, and it is pitched at the age of the class. To arrange a visit, simply write to the office a few weeks in advance.

For young people

At fourteen you can already fly a glider solo. Before then you can learn everything else: how to read a chart, how to prepare a flight, how to look at a cloud knowing what it is telling you.

Anyone who wants to go further finds the gliding school here, which is the oldest and the cheapest way to really begin: see the gliding page.

For adults

Talks for those who already fly as passengers and would like to understand what is going on up front, for those who have always been curious, and for those who are weighing up whether to start.

We talk about meteorology, about navigation, about how the airspace above our heads is put together. They are the subjects of the ground school course, told without the examination at the end.

For information and enrolment, your point of contact is always the club office: write to us using the contact form.
