The flight school’s Piper PA28 on the runway at Belluno

Private Pilot Licence (PPL-A / LAPL-A)

The PPL course lets you make the dream of becoming a pilot come true, along a path full of challenge, theory and hands-on flying. Every student is taken by the hand and guided through each stage of learning by qualified instructors who know the dynamics of flight inside out. Here flying does not end with the course: it becomes an experience that keeps you going and makes you part of a team.

The theory

Around 120–130 hours between study and assessment. Lessons are held online and in person, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 8 to 10 pm.

The flying

A minimum of 45 hours of flying on the Piper PA28: 35 dual and 10 solo. Flying lessons are arranged by appointment — one member of the Club looks after scheduling the flights around your needs and your availability.

We fly at weekends too, but during the week there is more room for everything. Flying usually begins about four months after the start of the course.

What you need to start

What is included

The course materials — textbook, chart, flight computer and plotter — are included. Headsets, the examiner’s fee, examination charges and the medical are not.

How the flying account works

On enrolment you pay the membership subscription plus an advance towards the ground school and your flying account. After that the payments are yours to manage: for every flight with an instructor the cost of the flight, worked out by the minute, is taken off your account. When you book a flying activity your account must show a minimum positive balance, as the Club rules require.

Who will teach you

The general aviation school is headed by Roberto Sardo, who is also its Head of Training.

The instructors are Roberto Sardo, Andrea de Martin, Davide Noventa, Federico Zanardo, Francesco Luzzi, Luca Bonon, Roberto Arato and Luca Murer.

And after the licence?

The PPL is the way in, not the finishing line. With the licence in your pocket the ratings open up: tailwheel, variable pitch propeller, glider towing. And then there is the road we have been travelling at Belluno for more than twenty years, one that no other school in Italy offers today: mountain flying.

For information and enrolment, your point of contact is always the club office: write to us using the contact form.
