How it works
The introductory flight is a real training flight: you at the controls, the instructor beside you with dual controls. No experience is needed and there is nothing to study beforehand: all you need is the curiosity to find out what it feels like.
- Before the flight, on the ground, the instructor shows you the aircraft, explains the controls and what you will do in the air.
- In the air you take the controls: a turn, a climb, a look at the Dolomites from above. The instructor follows you at every moment and takes over whenever needed.
- After the flight you talk it through together: what you did, what you felt and, if you want to carry on, which path to choose.
You can choose between three ways of flying, the same as our schools: glider, microlight and aeroplane.
DTO IT.DTO.012 — you fly with the instructors of our school, certified by ENAC.
VDS School no. 149-AECI — recognised by the Aero Club d'Italia.
In a glider
Flying without an engine: the tow plane takes you up, then you release and there is only silence, rising air and the mountains. It is the closest thing to the flight of birds, and in Belluno the Dolomite faces work for you.
In a microlight (VDS)
The most direct way to start: a light, simple and responsive aeroplane, with a high wing that leaves the view of the valley wide open. It is the aircraft used for the VDS microlight certificate.
In an aeroplane (general aviation)
The PPL school aeroplane: four seats, full instrumentation, the same one used for the private pilot licence valid throughout Europe.
Good to know
- We only fly in suitable weather: if conditions do not allow it, the flight is moved to another day.
- Wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes; in a glider, in summer, bring a cap and sunglasses.
- If you enjoyed the flight, the instructor will explain how to carry on: the gliding, VDS and PPL schools.
